Under his supervision, the DevRel, Dev Experience Engineering, Docs & Developer Content teams have built the most engaged API Developers community with millions of developers and a launched new DevRel Learn APIs platform from the ground up. Over 32 million developers read, viewed, and learned from this content in less than two years. He has helped several businesses make products with developer-led growth.

Awais has authored hundreds of open-source software tools used by over three million developers worldwide. For example, his Shades of Purple code theme is one of the famous top ten dark code themes. He has open-sourced over a hundred automation CLI software (https://Awais.dev/GitHub).

His code contribution to NASA’s Ingenuity Mars Helicopter mission was featured on Mashable, Geo TV, Hello Mag, and dozens of different media publications (https://Awais.dev/press).

Awais built a CLI command-line tool to track COVID-19 in March 2020. This project has served several billions of API requests making COVID stats accessible over 3.1 Billion times worldwide.

Awais received the FOSS (Free & Open Source Software) community leadership recognition as the 8th Gold GitHub Stars Award recipient out of 65M Developers. He was also listed #1 JavaScript “Trending Developer” worldwide by GitHub.

His open-source software has received several awards: like the Automattic Design Trophy presented by John Maeda (MIT Media Labs ex-Professor, called the “Steve Jobs of academia” by Forbes).
