Programming is hard. Well, anything technical is inherently hard. With that out of the way, today I’m writy a short post to let you in on a secret about what is pragma<\/code>\u00a0in the world of programming languages.<\/p>\n

So,\u00a0What Does “Pragma” Mean in Programming?#<\/a><\/h2>\n

Pragma<\/strong> is short for pragmatic information. So, simple. In plain English, pragmatic is an adjective that means sensible and practical. In programming, pragma refers to:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • The code that consists of useful information on how a compiler or interpreter or assembler should process the program<\/li>\n
  • pragma<\/code> does not contribute anything to the programming language itself<\/li>\n
  • pragma<\/code> only affect the compiler behavior<\/li>\n
  • pragma<\/code>‘s syntax may vary<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/section>\n

    \ud83e\udd14\u00a0JavaScript also has few pragmas, one of them is strict<\/code>.<\/p>\n

    By the above pragma, the JavaScript code will be executed in strict mode. In strict mode, bad syntax isn’t allowed, hoisting\u00a0isn’t<\/p>\n
    done, silent errors are shown, etc. It helps in writing a more secure and optimized JavaScript code.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
